The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has started distributing sensitive election materials across local government areas in Edo State, in preparation for the upcoming governorship election set for Saturday. The distribution, which is happening at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) branch on Ring Road, is under the observation of party representatives. INEC has arranged commercial buses to transport these materials to the designated locations.
According to INEC National Commissioner Sam Olumekun, 85.57% of the 2,629,025 registered voters in Edo State have collected their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs). However, 379,245 PVCs, representing 14.43%, remain unclaimed as the state gears up for what has been a highly anticipated and tense election.
