The Federal Government has officially declared Wednesday, December 25; Thursday, December 26; and Wednesday, January 1, 2025, as public holidays to celebrate Christmas, Boxing Day, and New Year’s Day.
This declaration was conveyed by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, through a statement signed on Monday by Magdalene Ajani, the ministry’s Permanent Secretary.
In his message to Nigerians, Tunji-Ojo extended warm greetings and called on citizens to uphold the core values of the season—love, peace, and unity.
“The Christmas season offers an opportunity for spiritual reflection and national renewal. As we commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace, let us practice kindness and foster goodwill, transcending our differences,” he urged.
The minister also highlighted the importance of strengthening familial and community ties to promote harmony, a cornerstone for national progress.
Reaffirming the government’s commitment to the well-being of the nation, Tunji-Ojo added, “The Federal Government remains dedicated to ensuring peace, security, and prosperity across Nigeria.”
He expressed confidence that President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda will usher in a more prosperous and promising 2025.
