Veteran Nigerian musician, Innocent Idibia, widely known as 2Baba, has spoken out on why he failed to appear at the opening show of his UK tour on Thursday.

Speculation had flooded social media, with some reports suggesting the singer was arrested in the UK following an altercation with his wife, Natasha.

In a video posted on Instagram Friday, 2Baba dismissed the rumours, explaining that his absence was caused by a medical emergency.

“First of all, I want to say to everybody who came out, we appreciate you. We had a medical emergency. It was tough, so you understand,” he said.

He assured both fans and organisers that the cancelled show will be rescheduled, promising an even greater performance when it returns. He also urged the public to refrain from spreading unverified claims, stating: “If una no sabi something, make una no talk.”

2Baba and Natasha got married in July, months after he publicly confirmed his separation from his former wife, Annie Idibia.
